The Governor of Beirut Judge Marwan Abboud and Mayor of Beirut Municipality Engineer Jamal Itani have separately met Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon Mohamed Hassan Jaber al-Jaber. During the meetings, the losses and damage to the buildings, institutions and homes of citizens in Beirut, the mechanism of damage surveying and reconstruction following the port explosion disaster, and the aid that arrived in Lebanon from friendly countries, were discussed. The governor and the mayor of Beirut hailed the great humanitarian role played by Qatar to rescue Lebanon in the wake of Beirut Port explosion, by sending hospital and medical and relief aid. Meanwhile, Qatar’s ambassador also met the Secretary-General of the High Relief Commission Maj Gen Mohamed Khair. During the meeting, Khair praised the aid and the great support provided by Qatar to Lebanon amidst the ordeal they are going through after the port explosion. They reviewed the severe damage caused by the explosion, based on the preliminary results of the damage survey.
