The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Silatech, revealed its latest initiative by collaborating with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to encourage Qatari entrepreneurs obtain a home licence that will allow them to conduct commercial activities from their homes.
The home licence represents a drive for the expansion and development of entrepreneurs’ projects, which eventually contribute to the country’s economic development and diversification process.
Under this initiative, Bedaya Centre will start receiving requests from those wishing to obtain a home licence to engage in commercial activities by filling out a dedicated application that should be submitted with all the required documents and submitting them to the employee who has been assigned by the ministry at Bedaya Centre to facilitate the registration process and encourage entrepreneurs to start their home business. The needed documents for applying are shown on the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s website.
Moreover, Bedaya Centre has provided dedicated staff to answer all inquiries of Qatari entrepreneurs wishing to obtain a home licence, guide them about their submitted applications to complete the registration process, and follow up their requests in the ministry until the moment of issuing the licences. The initiative will save time and effort for entrepreneurs and centre employees to obtain home licences, in addition to granting them a free subscription for a month in Dukan Bedaya, allowing them to display their products (food and beverages are excluded), and the ability to participate in the centre’s activities and promote their businesses.
Abdulla Faleh al-Saeed, board member and acting general manager of Bedaya Centre, said: “This initiative comes in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to support the efforts made by the centre to motivate entrepreneurs to start their home projects within the legal procedures.
“Our joining hands with the ministry will definitely help our upcoming entrepreneurs to spread and expand the appearance of their products and services not only on social media platforms, but in all retail stores under the licence that they will obtain, which gives them moral and material support at the same time.”
He added: “This initiative also aims to urge entrepreneurs to innovate, develop and support their capabilities and skills, to invest in their own projects, which come within the framework of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Bedaya Centre to create an investment environment and stimulate opportunities for Qataris to encourage and motivate them towards production and self-employment.”
