The Ministry of Public Health (NoPH) on Tuesday announced 216 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 252 recoveries during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Qatar to 1,08,254.
The Ministry said all the new cases have been introduced to isolation and are receiving necessary healthcare according to their health status.

The measures to tackle Covid-19 in Qatar have succeeded as seen in the flattened shape of the graph of daily cases of the disease and the decreasing number of the number of daily hospital admissions.
The proactive and extensive testing of suspected cases has enabled Qatar to identify a high number of positive cases in the community, MoPH said.
The Ministry also said Qatar has one of the lowest Covid-19 death rates in the world, thanks to the very high quality of care provided thorough the public healthcare sector for Covid-19 patients, Qatar’s young population, the proactive testing to identify the positive cases early, the expanded hospital capacity, especially the intensive care facilities and the ensuring of protection to the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
MoPH cautioned that, though the restrictions are being lifted and the number of the newly identified Covid-19 cases are on the decline, these do not mean that the pandemic is finished in Qatar. A good number of people are still being admitted to the hospitals with moderate to severe Covid-19 symptoms, MoPH reminded.
The Ministry warned that unless we all the precautionary measures are followed, the country may experience a second wave of the virus spread and see numbers going up as it is happening in many countries the world over.
The Ministry urged all to play their role in controlling the virus, even as the Covid-19 restrictions are gradually being lifted, by following precautionary measures like adhering to physical distancing, avoiding close contact with others, keeping away from crowded places, not being in confined closed spaces where other people congregate, wearing face masks and washing hands regularly. It is also of utmost importance to protect the elderly and those with chronic medical conditions, MoPH reminded.
The Ministry also urged those suffering from Covid-19 symptoms to either contact 16000 helpline or to go directly to undergo the necessary checks at any of the following designated health centres: Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal and Al Gharafa Health. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it, MoPH said.
The Ministry also advised all to visit its website for regular updates and new information on Covid-19.
