Qatar Wednesday reports 608 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths, 1204 recoveries

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Wednesday announced 608 new cases of Covid-19, 4 deaths and 1204 recoveries during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 138 and recoveries to 96107 in Qatar.
The deaths are of patients aged 50, 55, 67 and 74 respectively and all were receiving the necessary medical care, the Ministry said.

MoPH also added that all the new cases have been introduced to isolation and are receiving necessary healthcare according to their health status.
The Ministry also pointed out that the number of daily admissions to the hospitals is being declined gradually and this indicates that the country has left behind the peak stage of the infection. The recent spike in the number of deaths were  that of the patients who were detected with the infection weeks ago during the height of the virus spread.
The Ministry also observed that the virus spread is now more among families and that was a matter of concern. Because, among the families, the percentage of elderly population as well as those with chronic diseases are high.  Therefore, it is now of utmost importance to take extra care to protect these vulnerable groups in the society.
Even as the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar everyone should to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures like adhering to social distancing, wearing face mask and washing hands regularly, said the Ministry.
The MoPH also reminded that anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms should either contact 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the following designated health centers to undergo the necessary checks: Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal, and Al Gharafa.  This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
THe Ministry also advised all to visit this section of its website for regular updates and new information on Covid-19.
