The Ministry of Public Health on Friday announced 394 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 402 recoveries from the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number recoveries in Qatar to 105420.
All new cases have been introduced to isolation and are receiving necessary healthcare according to their health status, MoPH said in a statement. ?

The Ministry also said that the measures to tackle Covid-19 in Qatar has succeeded as it is evident from the downward trend in the number of daily cases of the virus and the reduced number of weekly admissions of covid-19 patients to the hospitals.
It is the proactive and extensive testing of suspected cases in Qatar that has enabled the country to promptly identify the positive cases in the community, MoPH added.
The Ministry also pointed out that Qatar has one of the lowest Covid-19 death rates in the world which can be attributed to the factors like high quality of care provided thorough the public healthcare sector, Qatar’s young population, proactive testing to identify cases early, and expanded hospital capacity, especially the intensive care facilities.
The Ministry also reminded that even though the restrictions are being lifted, and the number of new cases are declining, these do not mean that the Covid-19 pandemic ceased to exit in Qatar. It should be kept in mind that patients are still being admitted each day to hospitals with moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms.
If the precautionary measures are not followed strictly, the country may experience a second wave of the virus spread and see the positive cases increasing, as it is being witnessed in some countries across the globe, MoPh warned.
While the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures like avoiding close contact with others, not going to crowded places, not getting into confined closed spaces with other people, adhereing to physical distancing, wearing face masks and washing hands regularly, the Ministry reminded. Most importantly, it is vital that the elderly and those with chronic medical conditions are continue to be protected, the Ministry added.
MopH also said that anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms should either contact 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the following designated health centers to undergo the necessary checks: Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal, or Al Gharafa. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.??
