Al Sheehaniya Municipality’s Health Control Section conducted an intensive inspection campaign at butcheries on Tuesday to check the validity of meat products on display there – in fridges, storehouses and processing facilities – and ensure that these are fit and safe for human consumption. Besides, the inspectors checked the safety and cleanliness of the tools used in handling and preparing these products, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said. In addition, they conducted similar inspection tours at poultry shops to make sure that the health and safety standards are strictly followed. Accordingly, a violation report was issued to one of the meat shops inspected. The section will continue to address related complaints from the public during the Eid holidays, and simultaneously continue to monitor the retail food market and check the validity of randomly collected food samples.
