?The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Monday announced 546 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, 5 deaths and 1614 recoveries during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number deaths to 133 and recoveries to 93898.
The deaths were of patients aged 59, 64, 67, 80 and 88 respectively who were all were receiving the necessary medical care. All new cases have been introduced to isolation and are receiving necessary healthcare according to their health status, the MoPH said.


The Ministry said the measures to tackle Covid-19 in Qatar as is evident from the downward trend in the number of daily cases. Over the past few weeks, the number of new daily cases as well as hospital admissions were declining gradually, the Ministry added.
The rise in number of deaths can be attributed to the higher number of people tested positive and admitted to the hospitals weeks back, during the peak stage of the infection.
The Ministry also observed that there has been an increase in cases among families recently and that is a matter of great concern as this section of the population includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions. Therefore, the Ministry urged, all must be careful now more than ever and should and protect the most vulnerable.
The Ministry said, while the restrictions of Covid-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures like keeping physical distancing, wearing a face mask and washing hands regularly.
MoPH also advised that anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms should either contact 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated health centers to undergo the necessary checks. The heath centers located at Muaither, Rawdat Al Khail, Umm Slal, and Al Gharafa. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
