The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) Friday recorded 946 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), three deaths and 1,528 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 109 and recoveries to 76072.
The Ministry also said that during the past 24 hours, 7 people were admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases currently receiving intensive care to 200.
The Ministry stated that the two deaths recorded today were of patients aged 45, 59 and 79 years respectively and the three were receiving necessary medical care.

The Ministry said there is a decrease in the number of daily cases that require intensive care, as the number of cases that require hospitalization too is decreasing. But the MoPH also warned that the infections may rise again if the community's adherence to the precautions and preventive measures decreases.
The Ministry said the new cases were diagnosed through the emergency departments and different health centers. The new cases got infected by coming into contact with previously infected people and it was the continues investigations and proactive investigations by the Ministry that helped detect the cases.
The new confirmed cases are completely isolated in the various medical facilities in the country, where they are receiving the necessary health care according to the health status of each case, MoPH said.
The Ministry also stated that the spread of Coronavirus epidemic is gradually declining in Qatar due to the precautions and preventive measures implemented by the state and the commitment to them it by members of the community. Though this is considered a reassuring indicator, it does not mean the end of the epidemic as the virus is still present in the community, warned the Ministry.
The Ministry indicated that the number of daily infections among citizens and residents (other than expatriate workers) has increased compared to what it was in May, despite the overall decrease in the total daily infections in Qatar.
The Ministry cautioned that most of the infections in these two categories belong to members of the same family, and that the reason of the infections is often social mixing with friends or other relatives. Care must be taken not to transmit the virus, especially to the elderly and those with chronic diseases, the Ministry urged.
In this context, the Ministry advised the community to be more careful than before and to continue physical distancing, handwashing and wear protective facemask as well as being careful when near elderly family members or those with chronic diseases. MoPH also urged to reduce the number of social visits and to keep a safe distance always.
The Ministry warned that the gradual lifting of restrictions since June 15 after the epidemic has receded, does not mean lax implementation of precautionary measures as the virus is still present in the community.
The Ministry stressed that if the caution is not maintained among members of society, it is very likely that the epidemic will return again as a new wave of the spread.
The Ministry stated that through people’s commitment to preventative measures and limiting the spread of the virus, it is possible to enter the next phase of lifting restrictions but the matter depends on the extent to which people comply with the measures like avoiding family visits as much as possible. The Ministry of Health has developed indicators through which it evaluates both daily and weekly situation before submitting recommendations to the Cabinet regarding progress and transition from one stage to another of the plan.
The Ministry urged anyone with symptoms of Covid-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery. The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.
The Ministry also urged all to visit this section of its website to see the latest information and instructions related to Covid-19.
