The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) Tuesday announced 1,201 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), four deaths and 1,780 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 80 and total number of recoveries in Qatar to 60,461.
?The Ministry also stated that in the last 24 hours, 19 new cases have been admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases currently in intensive care to 244.
The Ministry said that the two of the diseased patients were 61 years old and the other two are 43 and 53 years old. The Ministry offered sincere condolences and great sympathy to the families of the deceased.


The ministry explained that the new cases had the infection through contact them from with people who had been previously infected, The Ministry said it continues to conduct investigative and proactive testing, which contributes to early detection of cases.
The new confirmed cases of infection have been introduced to complete isolation in the various medical facilities in the country, where they receive the necessary healthcare according to the health status of each case.
The Ministry confirmed that efforts to tackle the Covid-19 virus Qatar have succeeded in flattening the curve and reducing the impact of the virus by a large percentage thanks to the decisions of implementing bans, the preventive measures taken, and the awareness and cooperation of all members of society. And now are relatively less number of cases are being admitted to hospitals.
The Ministry stated that Qatar has now started to overcome the peak stage of the virus outbreak, thanks to the measures taken to address it, in addition to the commitment of the community members to the recommendations and preventive instructions, the most important of which being social separation, staying at home, not going out except when it is absolutely necessary.
Anyone who has symptoms of Covid-19 should either quickly contact the 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated health centers for testing, the Ministry said. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
The main screening centers include Muaither Health Centre, Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, Umm Slal Health Centre and Al Gharafa Health Centre.
The Ministry reaffirmed the necessity for the elderly or those suffering from chronic diseases and their family members to follow strict methods and precautions to reduce the risk of infection with them and work to protect them from infection by refraining from social visits, wearing the mask and cleansing the hands when near them.
The ministry stated that on June 15, Qatar has started gradually lifting restrictions due to the Corona pandemic in four stages that will last until September 1, based on the extensive data and studies conducted by the concerned authorities in the country.
The Ministry warned that lifting the restrictions gradually does not mean the disappearance of the Corona pandemic, but that during the gradual lifting plan, priorities were taken into consideration, while taking full care to avoid the risks that may arise from the process of lifting, stressing that each stage will be subjected to evaluation and review based on the curve of the spread of the virus, as the success of each stage depends on everyone’s commitment to implement the required precautions.
The Ministry also stressed it is important to realize that all the precautionary measures that are taken aim primarily to protect public health and protect individuals from this virus, taking into account all other aspects of life, whether social or economic.
