General Takaful Company appoints Mohamed Elailah as general manager


The Board of Directors of General Takaful Company, a Qatari private shareholding insurance company operating in accordance with the principles of Islam and Shariah, has appointed Mohamed Elailah as the company’s general manager.
Elailah’s appointment comes after the resignation of Majed Akel from his position as general manager of General Takaful after a long career of contributions and achievements, the company has said in a statement.
Before joining General Takaful Company, Elailah served as the chief operating officer of Insurance Operations at Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company, one of the leading insurance companies in Qatar.
Elailah has a rich and diverse experience in the insurance industry, including leadership and strategy skills as well as product innovation and customer service excellence.
He holds a Master’s degree of Science from Sir John Cass Business School – City University (London) in Insurance and Risk Management, Advanced Diploma in Insurance of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo. He is also a member of Chartered Insurance Institute as chartered insurer.
Elailah has also conducted and participated in a number of research papers and studies on insurance products and Islamic insurance operations.
Commenting on his appointment, Elailah said: “I thank the Board of Directors for their trust and I look forward to working with the Board and the employees of General Takaful during the coming period to reformulate the company’s strategy and strengthening its market position, product innovation, customer service quality and maximising shareholders value.”
