Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Nassif Hitti hailed the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to send urgent medical aid to his country to support Lebanon's efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, noting the deep-rooted relationship between Qatar and Lebanon.
Upon the directives of His Highness the Amir, the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has sent a shipment of urgent medical aid to Lebanon.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) correspondent in Beirut, the Lebanese minister said that Qatar and the Lebanese Republic always have maintained great relations.
Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti His Highness the Amir for his wise directives to send Qatari medical aid to Lebanon, pointing out that it does not surprise him considering the strong relations between the two brotherly countries.
In remarks to QNA correspondent in Beirut, Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan said that beyond the material value of the aid given by Qatar which always supports Arab brothers., it is the expression of concern and love that the Lebanese people and government value more.
He added that this is a continuation of the constructive cooperation between the two countries at the official and national levels. He said that during this difficult time and the tough economic situation, Qatar stood by as a sincere friend of Lebanon.
