Passengers with onward connections through Hamad International Airport (HIA) will be accepted for travel, Qatar Airways has said, noting that its global network will continue its operations for transit passengers as normal.
Also, cargo operations to Qatar remain unaffected, the national airline said in a travel alert on Monday.
On entry restrictions to Qatar, the airline said, “Under the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health, from March 18 midnight, entry to the State of Qatar will only be allowed for Qatari nationals, who will be required to enter quarantine for a period of 14 days.
“Passport holders of other nations will no longer be granted entry for a period of 14 days, after which the restrictions will be reviewed.”
Qatar Airways also alerted passengers about suspension of its services to Kuwait and Jordan.
As a result of the decision of Kuwaiti authorities to suspend flights in and out of the country, Qatar Airways’ services to Kuwait will be on temporary hold until further notice.
Operations will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with the intention to reinstate flights as soon as the suspension is lifted.
In view of the decision of Jordan authorities to suspend flights in and out of the country, Qatar Airways’ services to Queen Alia International Airport will be temporarily put on hold from March 17, until further notice.
Operations will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with the intention to reinstate flights as soon as the suspension is lifted, it said.
“The safety, security and good health of our passengers and employees is our highest priority. Qatar Airways is working closely with global and national authorities to implement the latest advice and guidance on Covid-19 (coronavirus) and operate our services accordingly,” the airline stressed.
"Like all airlines around the world, we have to balance the needs of our millions of passengers with the operational challenges we face due to entry restrictions imposed by a number of countries," it continued.
Affected passengers can re-book their tickets to alternative dates or destinations, or request a full refund without charge, the airline said. For tickets outside of those dates or to countries not covered by this policy, normal fare rules apply for re-bookings or cancellations.
