The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced the registration of three new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar who are in quarantine. Two are Qatari citizens and the third one is their family member who is of another nationality who returned from the Islamic Republic of Iran recently.
This brings the number of confirmed cases of the virus in the country to eleven so far.
The three patients were admitted to the Communicable Diseases Center under complete isolation and all are in stable conditions, the MoPH said in a statement.
MoPH also confirmed that the infected persons have not had contact with community members since their arrival, and the chances of a disease outbreak in Qatar still remain low.
All the eight persons who were previously diagnosed with the disease are in stable condition.
All precautionary measures are being taken by MoPH to prevent an outbreak of the coronavirus, said the statement. All incoming travelers are subjected to initial detection by thermal cameras in all of the country's incoming points upon their arrival and a medical clinic has been set up at the airport to deal with any suspected case.
The contact center of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Ministry of Public Health receives all communications/inquiries related to the virus around the clock on the toll-free number 16000.
