The return of Northwesterly winds on Monday due to the extension of high pressure over the region can cause blowing dust and reduced visibility until Thursday, the meteorology department warned Saturday.The winds can cause highwaves offshore, a statement by the Dept added. A fall in temperartures also can be expected.
The wind speed inshore may range between 12kt and 22kt gusting to 30 kt at places at times especially during daytime causing blowing dust and dusty conditions at times bringing the visibility below 2km in some areas.
Wind gust offshore is expected to reach more than 30 kt causing high waves exceeding 10 ft at some places.
Northwesterly winds will cause a fall in temperatures especially during night hours and early morning with minimum temperaturs reaching 10 to 17 ْC. The maximum temperatures will be in the range of 19 to 25 ْ C.
The Met Dept urged all to be cautious, avoid marine activities as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
