Cold spell to start Sunday, likely to last days

A cold spell is expected to affect the country starting Sunday lasting for several days due to the extension of a high pressure system over the region accompanied with north-westerly fresh to strong wind especially on Sunday and Monday.
The windspeed is expected to range between 15 to 25 kt with gusts exceeding 30 kt inshore and reaching 40 kt offshore causing blowing dust and poor visibility below 3 km in some areas.

Maximum temperatures are expected to drop during the cold spell ranging between 14 to 17°C and the minimum between 5 to 12°C across the country. The felt temperatures will be lower than these due to windy conditions. Qatar Meteorology Department urged all to take extra care, avoid all marine activities as well as to follow latest updates through it's official social media accounts.
